दिनांक १५/०६/१९७९ को डॉ. जगन्नाथ मिश्र संस्कृत महाविधालय की स्थापना हुई | यह महाविधालय बिहार राज्य के मधुबनी जिलान्तर्गत अंधराठाढ़ी से ३ किलोमीटर पश्चिम पस्टन नवटोली नामक स्थान पर स्थित है | २४ सितम्बर १९८१ को इस महाविधालय का सोसायटी रजिस्ट्रेशन एक्ट २१,१८६ के अधीन निबंधन हुआ |

सन १९८०-८१ से १९८१-८२ तक महाविधालय का अस्थायी सम्बंधन रहा | अस्थायी सम्बंधन के पश्चात राज्य सरकार ने विश्वविधालय (कामेश्वर सिंह दरभंगा संस्कृत विश्वविधालय) की अनुशंसा के आलोक में महाविधालय का पूर्व सम्बंधन का सत्र ८५-८६ से ९३-९४ तक दिर्घीकरण करते हुए ९४-९५ से स्थायी सम्बंधन प्रदान की |
